Mark Jacobs is an award-winning Director of Photography (DP) and cinematographer specializing in high-impact residential & commercial real estate advertising, brand storytelling, and automotive films. With over  25+ years of experience behind the lens, Mark is renowned for his ability to craft compelling visual narratives that elevate brands and resonate deeply with audiences. Based in Winston-Salem, his work spans globe-trotting campaigns for iconic clients like West Elm, William Sonoma, AT&T, Christie's International Real Estate, DuPont Registry Luxury Home Magazine, Sotheby's International Realty, Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate, Coldwell BankerGlobal Luxury, Berkshire Hathaway Luxury Homes, Keller Williams Luxury, RE/MAX Collection, eXp Realty, Allen Tate, Weichert Realtors, Century 21 and many more.

A Lifelong Passion for Visual Storytelling
My journey into cinematography began not on a film set, but with a deep fascination for the interplay of light and shadow. This foundational passion evolved into a professional pursuit, leading me to become of North Carolina's top real estate photographer's. I believe that cinematography is more than just capturing pretty pictures; it's about using visual language—composition, camera movement, and most importantly, lighting—to evoke emotion and convey a story without words. Whether it's the raw energy of real estate photography or the meticulously controlled environment of a business event shoot, my goal is always to serve the story and connect with the viewer on a human level.

Expertise in Commercial Cinematography & Brand Films
As a Director of Photography, my core expertise lies in translating a creative brief into a tangible, visceral visual experience. I specialize in:

  • Commercial/Hospitality Advertising: Creating visually stunning and effective spots for online and digital platforms. I have a proven track record of delivering footage that aligns with brand identity and drives campaign objectives.

  • Real Estate Cinematography: Capturing the power, design, and essence of homes. I am skilled in a variety of techniques, from high-speed hero shots to intimate detail work that highlights craftsmanship.

  •  Corp. & Business Event Storytelling: Crafting authentic narratives that humanize brands and connect them with their communities through genuine, character-driven storytelling.

A Collaborative and Technical Approach
On set, I foster a collaborative environment, working closely with real estate agents, agency creatives, and business owners to achieve a shared vision. My technical proficiency is rooted in a deep understanding of the latest digital cinema systems, with a strong preference for the color science. I am adept at designing complex lighting setups, from harnessing natural light to sculpting with large-scale HMI and LED fixtures. My process extends into the color grade, where I work hand-in-hand with colorists to ensure the final image perfectly reflects the intended mood and aesthetic.

Beyond the Frame
My work has been recognized by the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and the only photographer in NC to receive the REALTOR.com Online Marketing Award of Excellence, but the greatest reward is the trust of the clients and collaborators I work with time and again. In 2016 Mark expanded into producing media for Commercial and Corporate events, Architectural firms, and all types of Live events. Mark has produced digital media for some to the top retailers in the country, NCAA/ACC sporting events, and the top hospitality providers around the world.
